A 21-year-old faces a felony charge for destroying DJ equipment when he said he didn’t want to leave a downtown establishment early May 10.
The Morgantown Police Department charged Daniel J. Lively, 21, of Rainelle, with felony destruction of property. He was arraigned in Monongalia County Magistrate Court with bail set at $15,000.
According to his criminal complaint: Police went to Fat Daddy’s on Chestnut Street for a destruction of property complaint. Witnesses said they asked Lively and a woman to leave, but the two would not.
Lively said he wanted the DJ to keep the music going, but staff was trying to close the bar. Lively poured a pitcher of beer on the DJ switchboard and it immediately stopped working. Police estimated the device’s value at $5,000 to $15,000.
